PINEAPPLE APPLESAUCE CAKE

2 c brown sugar

1 c butter

4 large eggs or 6 medium eggs

1 c black walnuts chopped (optional)

2 cups raisins

1 pint applesauce

1 c crushed pineapple drained

4 cups sifted flour – sift 4 times

4 level teaspoons soda dissolved in 2 Tbsp. hot water

2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp cloves

pinch salt

cream sugar and butter till smooth add eggs and beat well

roll raisins and nuts in flour before adding to batter. sift cinnamon cloves salt with flour 4 times. Add to first mixture a little at a time alternately with applesauce .

Add pineapple, and the floured nuts and raisins. Add dissolved soda, blend well.

pour into greased tube pan and bake slowly at 325 for two hours or till done.
