Peggy’s Easy homemade biscuits in Cast Iron Skillet

Grease a cold Cast iron skillet with Crisco or butter and set aside.

Add about 2 cups self rising floura

using fork blend in  Crisco the size of an egg. cut it in till dough looks pebbly

Make a hole in the middle of the flour and pour in 2/3 cup milk.

slowly  mix in the milk but all the flour probably won’t mix in.Knead in the bowl till the dough is soft but springs back when poked lightly with finger tips. Don’t over knead

You can then roll it out on the counter top and cut biscuit size pieces.(I pull off biscuits and fold the edges under till they are smooth but a biscuit cutter will do just fine.)

Place a biscuit in the center of the skillet, then begin to place the remaining biscuits around that one. Do not make them touch. Once all the biscuits are in the skillet, take the back of your fingers, outer nuckle side, and press down on the biscuits to make them touch.Place a ball of Crisco on top of each biscuit the size of a marble.Bake at 500 Deg about 10 – 20 minutes.

When done, flip over onto a plate being careful not to burn yourself. Serve and enjoy.
