Cream together until light

1 cup butter

1 cup sugar 

Add 4 eggs and beat until fluffy 

stir in 1 cup blackberry preserves 

Sift together

3 cups flour

1 tsp soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 tsp cinn

1/2 tsp nutmeg 

add to creamed mixture with

1 cup buttermilk 

Beat until smooth

Bake in 4 layer pans at 325 

Frost with a butter frosting
