MILLION DOLLAR PICKLES

25 Cucumbers

1 tsp whole cloves

2 tbsp alum

1 quart vinegar (white)

2 quarts sugar

2 sticks cinnamon

How to prepare them:

Don’t wash the cucumbers. Make brine to float an egg. Put cucumbers in a jar and let stand for 2 weeks in a cool dark place. then was them and cut in inch lengths put in alum water 24 hours. Drain- Wipe dry each piece with a cloth. Put cucumbers back in jar. Make syrup with vinegar, sugar, and spices. Pour over cucumbers. Reheat syrup and pour over pickles every day for 4 days. On 5th day pack cucumbers in jars and heat syrup and pour over pickles and seal.
