Maw Maw Fuller’s Cooked Turnip Greens

Clean them first. Wash them at least three times. If they have big stems, remove them before you wash them. Have your water in your pot good and hot before you put them in. Put your salt and jowl meat for seasoning in the water. Can also add crushed red pepper (optional) if desired, if you like them spicy hot. Add about 3 Tbsp of fried meat grease or lard in addition. Do not use shortening. Cook until they are good and tender. Compliments of my Mammaw Fuller. ☺
