Here’s the recipe for my fruitcake ladies 

Jeweled FruitCake

1 ½ cups flour
1 ½ cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
6 eggs
3 1 Tablespoon vanilla

Mixed together . Then add;

16 oz of nuts- either walnut or pecans is what I use ( or you could do a combo of both)
16 oz of Dates
2 ibls of candied cherries( green & red) & pinapple

Mix in to batter. Divide between to loaf pans lined and greased with butter. Bake at 300* for 1 ¾ hours.. Remove from pan and cool enough to remove foil. Soakcheese cloth in rum or brandy and wrap around each loaf. Then wrap in wax paper and then a clean sheet of foil. Let sit for 2 weeks to marinate! I have done that partfor a month sometines to get the flavor in to it.
