HOREHOUND HONEY TAFFY

2 c white sugar

1/2 c horehound tea (strength you desire) and 1/2 c strained honey

Combine all ingredients and cook, stirring only till sugar is dissolved, to hard ball stage (256 degrees F) .

Turn onto butter platters. As edges begin to harden turn them into center with a spatula.

When cool enough to handle, pull with the tips of fingers, stretching into long rope. When light, cut and wrap in waxed paper. Can also be turned onto buttered and sugared platters. When still warm enough to stick, sprinkle sugar on top and let cool. Crack into pieces. Store in tight containers until needed.
