After toil in the garden.. and a long day of picking and peeling apples for apple butter and apple sauce a woman’s hands are not her best feature…
I have searched the web and polled my friends trying to find out how to get this lovely brown stain off my hands and around my fingernails.. Bleach is too harmful to my already sore hands.. .So I tried lemon juice which helped a lot.. (should have took some pics BEFORE I tried to get the brown glow off) but it didn’t help ENOUGH.
Some friends from canning group said to try the following
- baking soda – didn’t work, even when mixed with lemon juice
- peroxide- didn’t work.. it didn’t do anything but help clean out my cuts..
- efferdent- a friend who used to be a model said she used this to clean her hands and brighten the nail beds in her modeling days.. haven’t tried this one yet
- and the GOO the men use to clean their hands after working on cars was mentioned..
So here is some pics of my hands.. I think they look BETTER on camera than in person.. they are a mess.
