10 lbs green tomatoes, sliced

1/4 cup salt

1 quart water

2 lbs medium sized onions

1 qt vinegar

4 c sugar

1 (2oz) packages of mixed pickling spice

Soak sliced  tomatoes in salt water over night

Rinse and drain. Slice onions.

Cook vinegar sugar and spices for 15 minutes,  Add tomato and onions to brine and cook 15 minutes longer. Seal in  hot jars
