GERMAN APPLE PIE

CRUST

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1/2 cup shortening

1 tsp vanilla

2-3 tsp ice water

1/2 tsp salt

PIE FILLING

1 cup sugar

6 cups sliced peeled tart apples

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1/4 cup all purpose flour

2 tsp ground cinnamon

vanilla ice cream

whipped cream

Combine sugar flour and cinnamon

sprinkle 3 tbsp of mixture onto pie crust

Layer pie crust with half of apples then sprinkle with 1/2 of remaining sugar mix.

repeat the layer

pour cream over all

bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes then reduce heat to 350

then bake 55-60 minutes

Cool

store in fridge and serve with whipped cream and ice cream.
