DARK RAISEN CAKE

1 box dark raisins

3 cups water

2 cups sugar

1 cup crisco, oil or shortening

1 tsp cloves

2 tsp allspice

2 tsp cinnamon

Boil 15 minutes or until raisins are swelled up. Remove from stove and let cool. Add 2 tsp soda and enough plain flour to make a stiff dough and bake until done.
