CHEESE STRATA

1/3 c butter softened

1/2 tsp dry mustard

1/4 tsp garlic minced (about 1 clove)

10 slices white bread (crust removed)

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

2 tsp parsley flakes

2 Tbsp chopped onion

salt

q/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

black pepper

4 eggs

2 1/2 cups milk

mix butter, mustard, garlic, spread over bread slices. Cut slices into 3 pieces lengthwise, Line bottom and sides (stand up) of ungreased 8×8 or 9×9 inch pan. (use 1/2 of bread) butter sides of bread

mix cheese, parsley onion salt Worcestershire sauce and pepper.

Spread evenly in casserole over bread. Top with remaining slices. buttered side up.

beat eggs, stir in milk. Pour over bread, covering all. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours can do it overnight, Bake 325 for 1 1/4 hours uncovered. Let stand 10 minutes cut into squares. Double recipe for 9×13

Good with sausage and apple butter, great for a Sunday morning even Holiday mornings.
