APPLE PIE IN A JAR 

Peel and slice enough apples to fill 7 quart jars. Cover with syrup which follows:Syrup:

4 1/2 Cups sugar

1 Cup cornstarch

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon salt

10 Cups water 

Directions:Cook syrup until thick and bubbly. Add 3 Tablespoons lemon juice. Process in a water bath for 20 minutes.

Great for pies and apple crisp
