1 Stick of butter

2 cups sugar

2 cup water

1 1/2 cup Self Rising Flour

1/2 cup Shortening

1/3 cup milk

2 cups finely chopped apples ( I actually like mine diced in thin chunks)

Cinnamon

Brown sugar  ( added to the recipe by me.. not in original recipe)

Heat oven to 350.

Melt butter in a 13x9x2 inch dish or pan.

In a sauce pan heat sugar and water until sugar dissolves.

Cut shortening into flour till particles are like fine crumbs.

Add milk and stir with fork only until dough leaves the sides of the bowl.

Turn onto lightly floured board, knead until  smooth. Roll your dough out into a large rectangle

then sprinkle apples evenly over the dough…Sprinkle some cinnamon over apples lightly,

now roll up like you would a jelly roll.  Dampen edges with water and seal

Slice dough into 16 slices and place in pan with melted butter…. remember doesn’t have to look pretty your making a cobbler.. so don’t worry if some of your slices fall apart.. if you chunk your apples larger like I do then some will definitely fall out when slicing.. don’t worry bout it just toss the rest in with the slices..

I sprinkled with brown sugar and some cinnamon at this point (not in original recipe)

NOW Pour your sugar syrup over rolls

and put in oven

Bake 55-60 minutes ,

best eaten warm.
