  • Lynn McGinnis I made my 1st quilt this month. Mostly by hand. It was a labor of love, but I’m so proud of how well it turned out. The top is made out of t-shirts from travels all over the U.S. I shared a pic on my site. I think I might try another.
  • Serena Adkins Ellison Oh please share the pic here Lynn McGinnis..

  • Melinda Blevins I always wanted a sewing machine and 2 years ago my mom got me one for Christmas. I made 1 quilt, gave it to my mom for her birthday…

  • Melinda Blevins Marina Church what did you use for the backing? Your quilt makes me want to do it again. Homemade quilts are so cozy..
  • Marina Church When we began making them years ago I would buy muslin. That got too expensive. We catch calico on sale at Wal Mart or online and buy between 6 and 8 yards depending on the size of the quilt.I never pay over 3 dollars a yard for a quilt back unless it’s something I want really badly.
  • Melinda Blevins Yours is beautiful. I used a sheet on mine because it was just cheaper. I wondered how well it would hold up and so far so good.
  • Beulah Roark Fleece Marina Church try this site for cheap muslin.. the more you by the cheaper it is.http://www.onlinefabricstore.net/…/63-inch-unbleached…
  • Marina Church Thanks Beulah Roark FleeceMelinda Blevins-my mother in law and her Mama used to use sheets. The first place they would begin to wear was on the sides because they would wrap them around. If it was used a lot the back would wear thin but it took about 8 years before that happened
  • Kath Hoelzlhammer Sheets work great!
  • Serena Adkins Ellison I have the Bonnet Sue Pattern Quilt, my Aunt Sheila made it for me and Paul’s wedding shower with all our family names an birth dates.. I’ll try and photograph it tomorrow
