Pancake recipe from Betty Crocker’s 1950 cookbook. “Favorite Pancake”

1 egg
1 and ¼ cups buttermilk or sour milk
½ teaspoon soda
And ¼ cups sifted GOLD MEDAL flour
1 teaspoon sugar
2 Tablespoons soft shortening
½ teaspoon salt

Beat with a rotary beater till smooth. If you like a thinner batter, add more buttermilk.
