Coconut Black walnut pound Cake

2 Cups Sugar 4 Eggs (beaten)

1/2 Teas. Salt

1/2 ” Baking Powder

1 cup Salad Oil or Cooking oil

3 Cups all purpose flour

1/2 teas Soda

1 Cup Buttermilk

1 Cup nuts walnuts

1 Cup flaked Coconut

2 tsp flavoring (Vanilla)

Combine Sugar oil & Eggs

beat Well

Combine dry Ingredients add to Sugar mixture add Buttermilk beating well stir in nut + coconut and flavoring Pour into a well greased + floured tube pan

Bake at 325 oven 1 hr 25 min

Pour hot syrup over hot cake and let stand 4 hr to absorb syrup

Syrup:

1 c sugar

1/2 c water

2 tbsp butter

Tsp vanilla

Put into sauce pan bring to boil

Boil for 5 minutes

Remove from heat

Add flavoring

Pour over hot cake
