100 YEAR OLD WV BLACKBERRY CAKE
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter or crisco
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 tsp butmeg
2 cups blackberries
5 eggs
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
Cream together sugar and shortening. add eggs.
Mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. add in to sugar mixture.
add in buttermilk.
Add blackberries last
bake in greased and floured tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Frost with caramel or Vanilla icing if desired.
