so guy’s I recently (Oct 25, 2011)  got myself my first wild turkey with a bow…  =)

needless to say I was excited.. I wanted to make something different with this bird… so I thought since tonight is the kids “family fall fun night” with me and Paul.. I would make FRIED ranch turkey strips  with sweet potato fries and fried apples for dinner then dessert  White Chocolate Peanut butter candy apples before we carve our family pumpkin.

here is the recipe..

simply take your turkey breast.. clean it really well.. make sure dirt, feathers, ect are all gone.. let set in cold water over night. take it out and cut off the breast meat stays as close to the breast bone as you can…

cut into smaller chunks evenly as so to it will all fry pretty fast and even.

take your fork or Jaccard (meat tenderizer with blades) and gently tenderize the meat, as wild turkey has a tendency to be tougher than farm raised.

Now you want to take a package of ORIGINAL Ranch powdered dressing and put in bowl.. add 4 Tbsp self rising flour and mix together.

take another small bowl and take 1-2 eggs and mix with tad bit of water with fork well..

get oil hot and ready in a chicken fryer… and dip turkey strips  into the egg mixture then into the ranch mixture and into the  hot oil let fry

going to enjoy the sweets now

NOTE: I am not using the legs for this recipe so I threw those in the crock pot for tomorrow’s dinner. along with the breast bone for flavor and you would be surprised how much meat is still attached to the breast even if you think you did a good job taking off the breast meat…. throw that in. with a small can of cream of chicken soup and half a can of water. salt and pepper. put lid on and let cook till meat falls off the bone.. then take out all bones. go to WILD GAME category for the full recipe for my Wild Turkey Leg Dumplings
