SERENA’S PRESSURE COOKED PORK CHOPS
This is literally a melt in your mouth, packed with full flavor tender goodness, meal in one pot.. and sooooooo easy and quick .. NO ONE would believe you if you told them it took you 13 minutes to cook.!!
Prep work makes it less than 30..if your good with a knife/peeler 15-20 minutes your done!!!!!
SERENA’S PRESSURE COOKED PORK CHOPS
8 center cut pork chops
1 cup water
1 small onion
4-6 medium potatoes – chunked up
3 Tbsp of Steak Sauce or Worcestershire Sauce (steak sauce A-1 is best)
1/4 c. butter
pepper
salt
carrots Large Chunks (optional)
Directions:
Using tongs- brown your pork chops in bottom of pressure cooker, in 1/2 of the butter, salt and pepper well.
Next have potatoes and carrots chunked into healthy Meaty portions,
have small onion diced into smaller pieces
Take out with tongs the pork chops and set aside add rest of butter and add onions cook a minute then add potatoes and carrots if using. then put pork chops on top.
(today I just threw it all in there with out browning my onions.. in a hurry so.. onions and taters go in first
Add the cup of water and steak sauce.
Lay your pork chops on top
3 Tbsp of your A 1 Steak Sauce
Put your pressure lid on and lock. Bring to high pressure.
Once pressure is established set timer for 13 minutes, then using the quick release method. (cold water on the bottom/side of pot in sink)
when the pressure is dropped you can then and only then take off the lid
open your pot slowly with your face away from the steam
You should have a beautiful meal all in one pot .. use your tongs to put the chops on the serving platter first
now your left with the potatoes and the pot liquor in the bottom of your pot..
carefully put your potatoes on your platter surrounding your chops and pour the pot liquor over top your chops and taters
and there you have it folks..
Your chops should fall off the bone, Unbelieveable taste in less than 30 minutes.
goes great with macaroni and cheese.. (you see extra potatoes on there and I never serve potatoes with potatoes.. LOL but those were leftovers from yesterday so I said what the heck and threw them mashed ones on there as well.. LOL.. hey we don’t waste much around here)
COMMENTS FROM OTHER USERS,, WHERE I HAD MY RECIPE POSTED ON ANOTHER SITE.. some of their comments I thought I would paste here as they may be helpful to others. Although when I said to chunk your potatoes large I really meant LARGE… if you have a huge potato cut it in half .. if you have a small potato keep it whole.. common sense tells you that for the amount of time your cooking a porkchop till TENDER your potato will have to be very large as not to turn to mush.. that being said you can read the comments below!! =)
I have used this recipe for years but without the steak sauce, and lots of onion chunks. I tried it with A-1 steak sauce. I also browned the chops after seasoning them. I have to tell you, it was delicious. I use the regular old fashioned pressure cookers, have three and one large one for canning. Many times I would have all three on the stove. This is a keeper. I also reduced the time so the vegies were done and not soft.

I used this recipe last week for the 1st time using the steak sauce and it turned out great!! So juicy and tender. I seasoned the chops well and used some chicken stock along with the water. My husband and son loved it. The vegetables were full of flavor (a bit soft so next time I’ll decrease the time by a few minutes). My teenage son said if vegetables tasted this good he would eat them all the time! Thanks so much for sharing!

I cooked this and the family loved it, the chops fell off the bone. The veggies were a little too soft so maybe 10-12 mins under pressure.

I scaled this back for 3 serves and all up it took just over 30 minutes but that was mainly because I couldn’t get all 3 chops into the electric pressure cooker at once so had to brown of in two batches. I used the Worcestershire sauce but look forward to using a B-B-Q sauce next time. Thank you Serena, made for Help A Naked Recipe special event Photo forum.

I had decided to try this as it was many other reviewers first pressure cooker recipes. I have a new electric pressure cooker/smoker, and wanted to try something “non” smoked in it. It was very good, and turned out great. Off to see if you have any more pressure cooker recipes!

I used my electric pressure cooker with this recipe. It was easy, simple and tasted good. My family loved loved loved it. I also used the steak sauce instead of the worchester sauce. I also used Smart Balance oil instead of the butter. The calorie and fat content in this set me back a little and revised it with the oil.

I used salt pepper and an herb mixture on the chops.
Instead of steak sauce, I used 1/4 c vermouth (or dry white wine), and
1/4c chicken broth. Sherry is good too. You can thicken with corn storch if you
want it thicker.
Don’t be afraid of the pressure cooker. When you hear the noise, you have the heat too high.
Once it is up to the pressure you want, lower the temperature. You’ll see you can lower it quite a bit and it will still hold the pressure. I know I have the right heat when the ring I want is up and I don’t hear any noise coming from the cooker. Most people crank the heat which is not necessary to maintain pressure.

This was also my first recipe in my new Electric pressure cooker. I was really scared. I owned a pressure cooker years ago (the kind your grandmother had) so I do know they can work well. This recipe was tasty and tender. I cut the potatoes in large chucks and the carrots in 1/2. The chops were very tender. Next time I will only cook them about 10 to 12 minutes. The veggies were a bit too soft for my husband. I think I will make a gravy with the broth next time too.

This was my very first recipe with my pressure cooker. Now I know how the Ikea cafe cooks their potatoes – lol. This recipe is wonderful. I was petrified I’d do something wrong and have an explosion in the kitchen. I must’ve read your directions 150 times. Everything went off flawlessly. I used the carrots and it worked just great.
