Fried Beehoon (Rice Stick Noodles)
PHOTO SUBMITTED BY Alexandra Lim–  I used all the vegies I had in the fridge – cabbage, carrot, onion, red pepper, mushroom, and green onions for garnish. Leave out the shrimp and BBQ pork if you want vegetarian style. Normally I would have Chinese mustard green and beansprouts but I didn’t have them available at the time I was craving for this so I made do with what I had.
  • Alexandra Lim Joanna, I used oyster sauce and hoisin sauce for the seasoning. If you don’t have these, you can use soy sauce and a pinch of sugar.
  • Joanna Stringer Goff Thanks Alexandra, we live in FL and I do have oyster sauce and hoisin…this is a good comfort food and a pretty dish to put out.
  • Alexandra Lim I normally don’t use soy sauce for seasoning in my fried rice or noodles as soy sauce tend to leave a sourish taste (in my opinion) even though its kinda “un-Chinese” LOL
