RECIPE SUBMITTED BY Tonya Dowden Howell Young this is one of my favorite recipes and very easy.

DIE FOR CROCK POT ROAST

1 beef roast, large enough to fit in your crockpot
1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
1 pkg. brown gravy mix
1 pkg. Italian dressing mix
1/2 cup warm water

Place roast in crockpot. Mix all three envelopes and sprinkle on top of roast. Pour water in the bottom of the crockpot. Cover and cook on low 6 to 7 hours.

Note: Can use half of seasoning packages without jeopardizing the taste. Also you can add more water at end for more gravy.

Comments and Reviews  from Tried and True Recipes

Donna Keegan We had roast beef for one of our Christmas get-togethers, and I used a recipe from this page. One dry pack of each Italian dressing, ranch dressing, and brown gravy. Mix in 1/2 to 1 cup water. Pour over chuck roast in crock pot. Put on low about 6 hours or so. If you want to add potatoes, carrots, etc., just increase the amount of water. Another variation – I’ve cut up and added onions and garlic. Perfect every time! This is a fabulous way to make roast beef. We had about 18 people over for one of our Christmas celebrations, and the meat got rave reviews! I usually use a chuck roast because it is a little less expensive, and it comes out like some of the more expensive cuts.

  • Serena Adkins Ellison Thanks so much for the reviews.. I will have to try it.. you didn’t happen to take a pic of yours did ya? I LOVE posting peoples pics with the recipe on my website
  • Donna Keegan Only a before picture — 12.59 pounds of meat. We were too hungry to take an after picture.
