2 cups brown sugar

1/2 tsp salt

4 tbsp water

4 egg yolks beaten

4 tbsp four

2 cups milk


Boil sugar salt and water five minutes.

add remaining ingredients. cook until thick

Remove from heat

add 4 tbsp butter and one tsp vanilla.  Cool

Pour into 9″ baked pie shells. Top with whipped cream or meringue
