  • MY CHRISTMAS TURKEY using my mom’s stuffing recipe
it was a 20 lb turkey AND it was stuffed (stuffing and weight adds to your cooking time ) about 5 hours @ 350.. To prepare it for baking Simply rub with butter then stick butter in the cavity And stuff with your stuffing made out of the turkey’s boiled heart neck meat and chicken livers (recipe on my website) tie legs together with cooking string then with a little bit of vegetable oil in your hand rub down the whole bird shake with salt pepper and parsley flakes.. Put in a turkey bag and close up place I roaster , pour whole can of chicken broth in bottom of roaster surrounding bagged turkey and a cup of water… Make sure oven rack has been moved down enough so bag does not touch top of oven … Bake… Watch water level may need to add more to pan as it cooks if bottom of pan goes dry.., when done use meat thermometer to double check then transfer to platter carefully.. Now using baster, baste turkey with drippings from inside turkey bag (it’s own juices) serve

  • Serena Adkins Ellison I have the recipe for it on my website.. Take a whole loaf of bread Tear up into little pieces cut up about four stalks of celery and a onion salt-and-pepper real good, take one bag of seasoned breadcrumbs like Stofers or something pour that in and then two boxes of chicken flavored stovetop stuffing pour that in you should have already boiled the neck from your turkey along with the heart and giblets and a cup of chicken livers .. All boiled till done in water and a can of chicken broth .. When done take out and chop up and add to the stuffing pot.. The neck bone you try and pull off as much meat as you can and then throw it in with the stuffing.. Salt pepper and a 1/2 tsp or so of sage. Add in a stick of very soft butterNext you take chicken broth a couple cans start pouring in a little bit at a time and mix with your hands keep mixing with your hands and pouring until you get the right texture you may need more chicken broth or if you get it too wet you may need a little more bread.. Once you got it mixed really good now you can stuff your bird.. Take what’s left and put into a sprayed 9×13 pan pat down evenly and after your turkey is done bake pan of stuffing uncovered at 350 for about 35 -40 minutes watch and don’t over cook
