I always save the ham bone and always make sure to leave a bit of meat on it … I have shared different ways to use them, usually a good Multi bean soup like Ham bean and collard green soup or split pea lentils and ham soup or even just added to flavor your brown beans

One that is so simple most times you don’t even think about it is green bean and potato ham soup

Basically you just put your meaty ham bone in the crock pot with a good amount of water and put on low and go to bed.

Next day fish out bone and the fat that you can get out.

Add in at least 2 quarts of green beans and some black pepper.
Add an some scrubbed and halved potatoes
Let go with lid on until potatoes are fork tender.

Smells amazing and is quite good for such a simple easy meal.

enjoy!
