Okay guys so I have NEVER made this recipe.. but I got it from a old lady who let my buy all her old hand written recipes at a yardsale a few years ago.. I am just now going through some of the stack… thought some people would like this since we are all trying to be economic … so heads up for your next garden this year… plant some cabbage =) Serena…

Freezer Cole Slaw

2 heads cabbage

2 sweet peppers

3 cups sugar

1 1/2 cups white vinegar

1 tsp celery seed

4 carrots

2 tbsp salt

1 cup water

2 tsp mustard seed

shred cabbage and carrots

dice peppers, mix together with salt and let stand 1 hour in refrigerator

combining remaining ingredients and boil until sugar dissolves. Let cool

Pour syrup over vegetables and mix well. Pack in freezer containers Freeze.

in this recipe the vegetables stay very crisp.
