Bro D’s Organic Frijol Negro Zanahoria Pan de Maíz.
( organic black bean and carrot cornbread )
Ingredients … for black beans
    • 1/2 lbBob’s Red Mill organic dried black beans .
      20 oz Chicken broth , all natural , low sodium , no msg , 99% fat free 20 oz filtered water
      1/2 ground trukey , all natural 

      Rinse black beans well in cold water in collander . mix bean , chicken broth and water in crock pot and let cook till done . I add NO salt , NO sugar , NO butter , NO oil . Just the above listed ingredients . Things can be adjusted to taste for each indivual .

      Cook ground turkey to desired doneness . I do mine in the microwave . Then set turkey aside for now .
      Set turkey aside for now .

      Now you are ready to make your cornbread …..
Bro D’s Organic Corn Bread ”
2 tsp organic shortening
2 cups Hodgson Mill organic yellow corn meal
1 tsp Clabber Girl baking soda
2 tsp Clabber Girl baking powder
1 tsp organic sea salt
1 tsp Hodson Mill wheat germ
1 tsp Organic honey
1 organic brown egg bbeaten
1 1/4 cup organic butter milk
1 cup cooked black bean
(Drain and rinse black beans real good under cool water till clean)
1 cup organic baby carrots .
Steam cook baby carrots
(I like mine cut length ways in quarters) 

Preaheat oven with well oiled iron skillet to 450 degrees .
Mix all ingredients for cornbread mix leaving out the black beans and carrots . When mix is ready for the skillet , then add black beans and mix just enough to get them even throughout the mix .

Get iron skillet smoking hot in oven at 450 degrees , then of course pour in mixture and let cook till top is brown . Let it sizzle good and there ya have your ” Organic Frijol Negro Zanahoria Pan de Maíz mix ready to go .

Take SMOKING HOT iron skillet out of the oven and pour mix into center of the skillet . Use utensil to push mix towards the corners . You get a much more evenly crunchy crust this way .

Once mix is on the skillet , take carrot slices and space carrot sticks evenly on top . Use a utensil to slighty push carrots down into mix but with carrots exposed slightly . If you don’t push carrots into mix , they will just be pushed back on top of the surface of the mix as the cornbread cooks . Push them in just before you see them go under .

Place mix in 450 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown .

I use my micro convection oven to cook in . It cooks more evenly , more quickly and alot cheaper to operate over the big oven .

Take from oven and let sit under towel for about 5 minutes . Cut , serve and FULLY ENJOY .

Note …. Put turkey into black beans and let cook while cornbread cooking .

For those of you who like a mildly sweet cornbead , this is the one for sure . The natural mild sweetness of balck beans coupled with the amazing taste of organic baby sweet carrots will knock your socks off in this cornbread .
    • Yes , this is my own invention . Although I realize black beans and cornbread are age old meals . lol lol . 

      OH ! And wonderful for the digestive system beyond exlpanation . lol lol
