ENJOY ♥

BEER BATTERED FISH

2 quarts vegetable oil for frying

8 (4 oz) cod fillets

1 1/2 cup all purpose flour

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp paprika

1- 1/2 tsp salt to taste

1 tsp black pepper

1 beaten egg

1 (12 fluid oz) can or bottle beer

1 tsp cayenne pepper

Heat oil in deep fryer 365 degrees, rinse fish and pat dry.

season with salt and pepper.

Combine Flour with all your spices. Add egg into your dry ingredients and gradually add in beer as you form a thin batter.  You should be able to see the fish after the fish is dipped.

Dip and Drop Fish into hot oil one at a time, fry turning once browning on each side to golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

(You can also use this for chicken strips.. just make a brine of heavily  salted water to sit in for a few hours  for your chicken strips first)

Note. You can make any amount of the batter you choose to – 2 cups of beer, to 2 cups of flour and so on. Then with a whisk mix those ingredients together well.

Cover with tea towel and leave it alone. Let sit for 3 hours and your ready to do anything! The beer and flour cause a chemical reaction

for better results Dry your fish first then dip in regular flour THEN into beer batter before frying.
