Amish Cookies

1½ cups sifted all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1½ cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup chocolate chipsBeat together butter, brown sugar and white sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add flour, soda and cinnamon. Fold in oats and chocolate chips. Chill for 1 hour. Shape dough in 1″ balls. Flatten each cookie slightly. Bake at 350° F. for 10 -12 minutes.
Makes 4 dozen cookies.
