my melting ice cream cake I made for my Hubby’s birthday, he was late from work… and things were going south quickly..

 

Ice Cream Cake
Take a choc devils food cake mix (or vanilla) and mix up.

Have oven preheated to 350 degrees.

Grease and line two 8 inch round layer cake pans.

Pour batter evenly in both pans bake till done don’t over bake. After cooled take out of pan and take off wax paper, put one layer on your serving plate or cake dome.

Then take 1 gallon of vanilla or vanilla and Oreo and slice carton open. (Ice Cream must be soft enough you can cut good but frozen firm) Get knife and slice ice cream into strips laying it over bottom layer of cake then put on top layer. (If ice cream is not at the right point you can put whole cake in freezer for just a bit for it too firm up a little more before putting on hot fudge).

Last, Take the homemade ice cream fudge, and pour over top of cake. (If you don’t want to make your icing you can take a can of milk chocolate icing and microwave it and pour over cake. Garnish with fresh strawberries.

Serve immediately.

 

 

Hot Fudge-

1 Cup Sugar

2/3 Cup Cocoa

3 Tbsp  Reg Flour

1/4 tsp Salt

1 1/2 cups milk

2 tbsp butter or margarine

1 tsp vanilla extract

Combine Sugar, Cocoa, Flour and salt in medium Sauce Pan.

Blnd in about 1/4 cup milk. Then add remaining milk. Cook and stir over low heat until sauce boils

when thick and smooth add butter and vanilla extract.
