1 1/2 lbs Granny Smith Apples

2 Tbsp butter

1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1/4 c light brown sugar

1/3 cup water

Peel core and slice apples..

Add to a 3 quart saucepan with butter, nutmeg, sugar, cinnamon, brown sugar and just ONE cup of water.

Cook until apples are tender, but not soft. Stir occasionally to keep from sticking.

Add two small packets of Apples and Cinnamon oatmeal  and stir into mixture.. (can add just two tbsp regular instant oats if you don’t have the packets on hand I just like those)

So good as a side for breakfast.. we had it today in place of our “usual” applesauce.

. served with Gravy Biscuits, Scrambled Eggs, and Fried Bologna.
