RECIPE AND PHOTO SUBMITTED BY Sybil Davis

I made Jamaican beef patties. Plantains. Pigeon peas with Jasmine rice.

The patties are made with ground meat, onions, garlic, potatoes salt and pepper.

Saute until brown.

The crust is

2 c. All purpose flour. 1/4 cup  each of margarine and shortnening

1/2 t. Salt.

1 1/2 Tb curry powder.

1/4 c. Cold water.

I use the food processor to mix the dry and fat together until coarsely blended. Then I turn the processor on and add little by little the cold water until it forms a ball. Let the dough rest. Divide into balls and roll out. Add the filling and turn the over to seal. Egg wash the tops.

Bake for 30 minutes at 400 degrees.
