MY MUD PIE MAKING STATION FOR THE KIDS FOR OUR VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL THIS YEAR.

Our theme is Bug Zone. So this was something the kids can really enjoy and will taste great.

I made one of my dirt cakes the regular way using french vanilla pudding the other I swapped the french vanilla for chocolate and stuck to the rest of the recipe.. they turned out great.

The kids can make their own mud pies and add their own toppings.. choosing from Worms (Gummies), Dirt (fine Oreo’s), Dead bugs (Rice Krispies), and Colored Rocks (M & M’s)

Here is my recipe for dirt cake.. like I said you can swap the french vanilla pudding for the chocolate to make it more  MUDDY looking ahahahaha but taste wise I go for the french vanilla thats why I did both …

PS – I DOUBLE this recipe to fill large bowls or pails like pictured above.. expensive but worth it =)

Dirt Cake

1 1/4 lb. Oreo cookies crumbled
8 oz. Cream cheese
1 stick margarine
1 c confectionary sugar
12 oz. Cool whip
3 c milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 3 oz French vanilla instant pudding (also can use choc pudding)

Crush cookies set aside.
Mix cream cheese and butter till smooth mix in confectioners sugar fold in cool whip in separate bowl mix pudding, milk, vanilla, and fold in cream cheese mixture
Use 13x9x2 pan or flower pot layer 1/2 dirt crumbs

if inserting snake put snake in halfway through layering it so it will look like it is coming up out of it…

take pudding and continue layering
