Serena Adkins Ellison this was posted above her pic on her page ____For anyone that may not know, the BEST way to make “hard-boiled” eggs is in the OVEN! Place the eggs in a muffin tray so they do not move around, turn the oven to 325 degrees, pop in for about 25-30 minutes and remove!
    • it said not only are they tasty but easier to peel… guess I will have to try them and find out.. any of you ever tried this instead of the normal boiling method?

mom said watch when you get ready to peel them, put sunglasses on or something for protection just in case.. mom said years ago when she FIRST got a microwave she put an egg in the microwave, (didn’t know they could blow up like that) and she said she carried it over to the sink when barely tapped it with a spoon it blew up in her face.. she said it was a wonder she hadn’t put her eyes out.. mom said she never heard of this in a oven either.. so be careful and let us know…
    • Serena Adkins Ellison My husband thinks it will work in an oven though he said the cooking power is way different in a oven.. a hot dog in an oven won’t explode but a hot dog in a microwave WILL explode.. so it may work
    • Amanda Pegram Clyburn Hey Serena, microwave a marshmallow…. too funny!
    • Shirley Wills Let me know if this works pleas.!!!

eggs in the oven WORKS i cooked 4 and they peel alittle easier…no salt or water just put them in your muffin tin and cook for 30min.; I cooked mine for 25min. but, i think 30min. will be better and sorry, didn’t take pic. but my husband love the yolks…..

don’t you think this would use more power? I never heard of it either!
    • Serena Adkins Ellison Thanks Veronica.. =))
Serena, I did the egg experiment this morning with a dozen eggs. I decided to put them in a tart pan, it’s much smaller than the muffin pan. I was thinking it may hold the eggs in place better, and they did, but I’m now wondering if I should have done them in a regular muffin pan. I baked them at 325 for 27 minutes…I figured I’d go between the 25 to 30 minutes as you said. At 27 minutes i tried one egg, and it was almost done, but not quite. So I put the eggs back in the oven and baked for another 3 minutes…then they were perfect. The only thing that went wrong is one of the eggs was not done in only one of the eggs…it was about 1/3 done. I’m now thinking the higher sides of the muffin pan may hold the heat in more surrounding the eggs. I also immediately put the eggs in ice water before peeling and the skins came off really easy. I’m now going to make egg salad or pickeld beets n’ eggs.
