RECIPE SUBMITTED BY Yolanda Gilbert

The best spice cookies ever

1 1/2 cups of butter

2 eggs

1/2 cups of molasses

4 cups of flour

4 teaspoons of baking soda

2 teaspoons of cinnamon’

1 teaspoon of each ginger and cloves

1 teaspoon of salt

and additional sugar to roll them in before baking.

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and molasses. On waxed paper mix flour, salt, soda and spices together. Add flour mix to butter mix and blend until just combined. Pop in the frig for and hour or so to chill so that you can roll dough into balls.

I roll into 1 inch balls but you can make them any size you want. Roll balls in sugar and place on un- greased cookie sheets 2 inches apart. Baked at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. I like my cookies soft so I bake for 8 minutes.

I was looking through my Christmas cookie recipes. This is one of my favorites.
