BBQ  SPARERIBS

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1/4 cup flour

3 pounds spareribs

2 tbsp veg oil or margarine

1 cup water

1/4 tsp thyme leaves

2/3 cup bottles bbq sauce of your choice (cattleman’s original or Bullseye is good)

1 cup potatoes peeled and quartered (1 lb)

put salt pepper and flour in paper or plastic bag.

Add ribs and shake to coat evenly

in 5 quart dutch oven heat oil, uncovered over med heat for 2 minutes. brown ribs on all sides.

Add water and thyme. bring to a boil cover and reduce heat to simmer for 1 1/2 hours add bbq sauce and simmer for one hour or till tender. Skim off fat add potatoes and simmer another 20 minutes till potatoes are tender to fork. Makes 4-5 servings.
