Chocolate Pound Cake

(I call it BROWNIE CAKE lol cause it tastes more like a brownie, nice crust on outside and very moist on the inside)  I also added two layers of glaze one simple white and one chocolate after the white set up..

(NOTE: for my chocolate chip chocolate pound cake I make this exactly the same only I fold in chocolate chips in the batter before putting into the pan to bake)

cake:

sift together

3 cups flour

1/2 cup cocoa

1/2 tsp baking powder

cream together

1 cup crisco

3 cups sugar

mix well and add one at a time 5 eggs unbeaten

gradually add dry ingredients with

1 cup mik

2 tsp vanilla

mix well

and pour into a well greased tube or bunt pan (I used bakers Joy spray)

bake 1 hour 30 minutes at 325 (in my oven 1 hr 10 minutes is all needed every oven is different just watch cake 1st time)

I turned onto plate and put wax paper under each side all the way around and made my glazes..

I then glazed first with a simple white glaze while still warm

just mix about 2 cups of confectionary sugar with 1/2 stick melted butter and 2 tbsp of water

pour over cake with tbsp let harden

then pour on the chocolate glaze.. (I didn’t use all of the glaze) save the rest and use to go over your cake  serving plate and ice cream…

chocolate glaze

2 c confectionary sugar

1/3 cup cocoa

1 stick melted butter

blend with mixer

add tbsp milk

and 1 tsp vanilla

(I didn’t use all of the glaze) save the rest and use to go over your cake  serving plate and ice cream… (or for a thicker glaze you just glaze it like I did then let it sit and harden.. then repeat the process.. let it harden.. and REPEAT again.. you get the idea)

enjoy

crunchy like a brownie outer crust with fudgy moist inside then the glaze to top off.. YUMMERS

cut and watch it go..

piece….

…by piece. =)
