TOMATO SOUP CAKE

(A Moist Spice Cake)

1/2 c. shortening

1 c. sugar

2 eggs

1 cup tomato soup

1 tsp baking soda

2 tsp baking powder

2 cups sifted flour

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tps nutmeg

1/2 t. cloves

1 c. raisins or dates

1 c. walnuts chopped

Cream shortening sugar and eggs. Add soup and soda. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to mixture. Stir in raisins or dates and walnuts. Pour into 13×9 oblong pan. Bake at 350 F.

Cream Cheese Frosting

2 1/2 c. Powdered sugar

1 small 3 oz soft cream cheese

1 tsp vanilla

1/4 c. cream

Cream together
