My favorite way to eat cabbage is smothered. You take 3 bacon strips and fry them up crispy. Remove bacon add cut cabbage. Add 1/4 cup chicken stock. 1 teaspoon all purpose or creole seasoning. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook until the cabbage is wilted then stir in the bacon pieces. OH MY!!!!
