APPLESAUCE PIE
2 unbaked 9 inch pie crusts
1 (16 1/2 oz.) jar of applesauce
1 c. sugar
4 eggs, separated
1/2 c. butter
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla OR
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. whole milk
Put applesauce in a bowl. Add sugar, egg yolks, butter, cornstarch and vanilla and mix until smooth. Add evaporated milk. In separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff. Fold egg whites into applesauce mixture. Stir whole milk into mixture very slowly. Pour into two pie shells. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes; then 350 degrees for 25 minutes…
