RECIPE SUBMITTED BY Lynn McGinnis
Ok folks, one of the snacks we had for Super Bowl and have often here at our house is very simple. The most difficult part is finding the Party Rye Bread.
Hankie Pankies
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lb. Ground Beef
1 lb. Hot Breakfast Sausage
1 lb. Velveeta cheese
1 pkg. Party Rye Bread
Brown the Ground Beef, set aside to drain.
Brown the Hot Sausage, set aside to drain.
After draining well, return both meats to skillet & cover with thin slices of Velveeta cheese until it melts. (Sometimes I put the meats into a microwave dish with a lid and slice the cheese on top. Put in the microwave until cheese melts)
Mix meats and cheese until its well combined.
Scoop mixture on each piece of rye bread and place on cookie sheet. Bake on 425 until toasted – will have brown tips on top.
This is great served either hot or cold.
We often have it for breakfast – the morning after the party!
