CAST IRON SKILLET WHITE CORN BREAD

3 eggs

2 cups white corn meal

2 cups self rising flour

2 tsp baking powder

4 tsp sugar (your preference)

1 tsp salt

butter size of an egg

1 cup boiling water

2 cups buttermilk

Beat eggs and add dry ingredients then add the butter. Pour in boiling water and stir vigorously. Stir in buttermilk Pour into well greased Large 10″ Cast Iron Skillet

at 400 degrees for about 35 minutes. Check..
broil to brown top slightly.

 

Today I made my Southern Yellow Corn bread as well as this White Corn Bread.. the yellow is sweet this one however is not.

This is the flour I use for my White Cornbread.
