What could be better on Christmas morning than your family waking up to the smell of Baked Cinnamon French Toast and Hot Ham?  This easy recipe I make for my own family will make yours jump for joy as well.  It can be served with or without syrup. Best if served warm.  You can make this recipe in a 9×13 easily, you just need to double the recipe.. no rules I hardly ever measure, just tried to for today’s posting.  .. enjoy, Serena

BAKED CINNAMON FRENCH TOAST

For a square 8×8, first spray your dish with bakers joy or pam

Place a slice of bread in all four corners of the glass dish and add a sliver of butter to the top of each slice

Now take mixing bowl and add 6 eggs

Now add about 2/3 cups of white granulated sugar  to the eggs

add Cinnamon, I didn’t measure maybe about 1 to 1 1/2 tsp

add a Tbsp regular milk

mix up by beating  with fork

Pour enough to cover top of 1st layer of bread , can use fork to spread to edges.. reserve the rest of the mixture for your next two layers.

Repeat .. in total you should end up with 3 layers of bread (butter tops of each layer)

on third and final layer after you have spread the last of your egg mixture over top

you will sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over top and put into a 400 degree oven for 25-30 minutes

The casserole will come out smelling heavenly

the top bits will be crunchy and the middle although done, will be soft and tender and almost custard like very delicious. You can eat as is

or you can serve with maple syrup over top

either way will be delicious. Best served warm.  Country Ham goes wonderfully with this.  I serve it in large slices but younger children may want theirs cut in half. As I said at the top of the recipe this can be converted to feed a large group by using a  9×13 dish and doubling the recipe until you have enough.. I hardly measure when I make this.. no rules.
